If you wish to participate in PyCon Italia but are experiencing financial difficulties, we are here to assist you!

The funds available to us are limited, but we will do our best to assist all individuals who request help. We kindly ask you to request assistance only if you truly need it.

Our staff will review each request and will contact you for all necessary details.

What types of grants do we offer?

  • Grants for individuals facing financial difficulties (Economic and social factors)
    We believe that everyone should have the opportunity to participate in PyCon Italia, regardless of their economic or social situation. If you need financial support due to limited resources or other personal circumstances, we are here to help you.
  • Grants for individuals from minority groups (Diversity)
    We want PyCon Italia to be as diverse and inclusive an event as possible. We support individuals from underrepresented groups in the tech industry so they feel welcomed and can be present and contribute to our community.
  • Grants for contributors to the Python community (Speaker)
    We appreciate those who contribute to making the Python community a positive and welcoming space. If you are a speaker who needs financial support to participate in the conference and share your knowledge, you can apply for a grant.

What do we offer to those who receive the grant?

  • An entry ticket to PyCon Italia 2026
    Includes lunches and morning and afternoon coffee breaks for all three days of the conference.
  • Reimbursement for travel and accommodation expenses
    Depending on needs and fund availability, with maximum amounts based on the country from which you will travel:
    • From Italy: up to 350 €
    • From Europe: up to 500 €
    • From non-European countries: up to 650 €

Frequently Asked Questions

What should I do if my grant is accepted?

You will receive an email with a link to confirm your grant. You must confirm by the deadline indicated in the email.
If we do not receive a response from you by that date, the grant will be assigned to someone else.

Can I receive reimbursement before the conference?

No, we do not provide any reimbursement before the conference.

How does accommodation work this year?

This year we no longer offer accommodation directly.
Grant recipients must take care of booking their own accommodation.
The financial contribution we provide may cover travel and accommodation expenses, according to the amount indicated in your grant approval.

When will I receive reimbursement for my expenses?

Reimbursement will be processed after the event, via bank transfer or PayPal. You will need to send us valid receipts (airline tickets, bus, train, and accommodation) through a form we will provide.

What do I need to do to receive the reimbursement?

To receive the reimbursement, it is necessary to:

  • Have actually participated in the conference. You will be required to provide proof of attendance, such as a photo of your badge.
  • Submit valid receipts through the form we will provide you.

What is included in the travel and accommodation reimbursement?

The reimbursement covers travel and accommodation expenses, as long as they are supported by valid receipts.
The maximum reimbursable amount will be indicated in the approval letter of the grant approval.

Please note that, as part of our efforts to reduce environmental impact, we encourage the use of trains rather than planes when possible.

We may not reimburse air travel costs if easily available land alternatives exist. The assessment will be done on a case-by-case basis.

Is the grant transferable to another person?

No, the grant is personal and cannot be transferred to another person.

I need a visa, what should I do?

If your grant is approved and you need a visa, we will ask you to send us a request for the invitation letter as soon as possible (after the grant approval). Please visit our dedicated page and fill out the request form.
It is important to start the process as soon as possible. You will need to provide us with proof of having started the application process at the embassy by a specific date that we will communicate to you.
