Samuel Colvin

Samuel Colvin is a Python and Rust developer and the founder of Pydantic Inc., backed by Sequoia. With over 13 years of software engineering experience, he created Pydantic Validation, an open source library downloaded over 500M times monthly and a core dependency of virtually every GenAI Python library—including the OpenAI, Anthropic, and Google GenAI SDKs, as well as LangChain and LlamaIndex. Samuel has also built Pydantic Logfire (developer-first observability), Pydantic AI (agent framework), Pydantic Evals (AI evaluation), and Pydantic AI Gateway (model routing). Prior to founding Pydantic Inc., he served as CEO of TutorCruncher. Samuel maintains an active presence in the developer community through GitHub and X (@samuelcolvin), where he shares his work, engages with other developers, and posts tips on Claude Code usage.
